• Facebook and Instagram have now started reminding users to wear masks. This development has been started in the US.

The Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg has considered an important development for their users. It has decided that Facebook and Instagram Will Soon Remind Users To Wear Masks during this Coronavirus crisis. 

This development has recently started on Facebook and Instagram with a polite message on the top on the newsfeed page. It is directing users to the COVID-19 information center. Facebook users will have links of the Centers for COVID-19 control whereas Instagram users will have similar CDC links.

The US has the highest number of cases coming each day. A single-day (Wednesday) record is almost new 50,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the US. AS of the next day (Thursday), more the 128,000 people have died and the other 2.7 million cases have recorded. The CDC recommendation is for people so that they could wear masks for infection protection. 

Facebook said “we’re putting an alert at the top of Facebook and Instagram to remind everyone to wear face coverings” and now users can see the alert on the page top. Facebook prohibitsthe sale of hand sanitizers, masks, COVID 19 kits, and disinfecting wipes using exploitative tactics where Facebook has also struggled due to wrong Corona misinformation during earlier pandemic days.

Due to this message on top of the feed, users can encourage and wear a mask on public places. This message is alerting users to wear a cloth mask for safety. It’s spreading the message for public places where your mouth and nose should be covered with cloth face covering or mask. It is also linking the user to the CDC link by providing cdc.gov link. This act has started from the US and will be spread to all countries soon. It is aims to help valid and relevant information on the COVID-19 to Facebook and Instagram users.

Similar to Facebook Instagram is showing the message on Feeds, “Wear a Cloth Face Covering to Help Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 When in public, cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face covering. Learn more from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”
